Unlike most of Lyn's florals, the grouping here is surreal. We have a dream garden in which she has intertwined both wild and domestic flowers in a harmony of her own making.

Now we onlookers recall that Lyn's mother often said to her daughter "Your flowers dance"! So with the word "dance" as our cue, let us create a fantasy in which the white peony in the center is Shakespeare's Titania, queen of the fairies. In her secret glen, hiding from Oberon, she is guarded on the left by the delphiniums and on the right by the foxgloves. Skipping in from the left, clad all in blue, are her fairies, the hydrangeas. They pass in review, dancing in tight clusters and singing their anthem, "Hail Titania, Queen and Mother". For music, (from Tennyson)

The elves are in the foreground, invisible, but their horns, fashioned from beach roses, can be clearly seen waving about. All is in motion. Even the tall guardians sway to the tempo. Only Titania, stiffly regal, keeps her composure.
